  1. Sveiks! Ka tiev iet? Have a great trip kiddo!
  2. what is this about a clif in mission. some guy in the gym that is a 5.12 climber told me. afterwards, i asked what 12 he did and it was zombie roof which he went on to say that he jugged the draws the whole way. i was skeptical when he was getting pumped on the 5.10+ in the gym. the french free photo shoot story made it all clear. If you know about this cliff lemme know. thanks
  3. I believe it was Horkheimer that said something to the effect that "it is naive and bigoted to think and speak only in the language of science" and that it was its own religion and that belied the empirical nature of it. Ironically enough, he was a German 'Marxist' more of the critical tradition of Frankfurt.
  4. any takers? 4*C and sunny till wednesday. Lemme know. Sat.-Sunday is also nice. Can meet someone in Vancouver.
  5. I remember lots of FA's published. I dont know what you kids are whining about. Just cause FreddyB and the like dont post their new routes... big deal. I defy y'all to just climb all the new routes that were posted last year.

  11. trailer
  12. Got the Song remains the same on vinyl... 30 minute tracks... double disk. haven't had a party i haven't played it at yet.
  13. and arguably vice-versa
  14. I agree matt, especially with the last situation. I was mired in a grade for a long time until someone (Rudy actually) told me to just jump on something and I nailed it. There really is truth in saying that climbing is 90% mental. I found that i jump of rather than fall 90% of the time even when i think i am falling, i really could have held on a little longer. Screw the rating I would say. If it looks good, possibly doable and has good enough gear, jumpawnit!
  15. no doubt. and the creeds of calcedon (crete?) etc. were created merely to discredit the heretic practices of the aryans. this is the begining of a long line of added dogma to a nearly completely dogma-less spiritual way of being (notice i didn't say religion). I admire the way Jesus lived his life, but I struggle to affiliate myself with people who profess to be following the same man. Quie the cross-fire i am in i would say!
  16. doesn't this sound an afwul lot like the catholic church before they instituted the vernacular? Give the church your money and we will progress the faith. You know nothing, but trust us... we'll save you. Weird correlation. If science is taken to a 'religion' level. It does cease to be science no?
  17. Shit man! as i read the first sentence I totally was about to reply the same as your 2nd sentence! tru nuff. at least the music remains the same. Mabe we will see another revolution like the one of the last generation. Or mabe no-one cares anymore. We are all content with our SUV's and soy mocha lattes. or whatever they are called.
  18. Damn man! Nice!
  19. faq-it! jump-awn-it!
  20. We are heading over there in an hour or two. If you wanna come and have a lil pub club session afterwards lemme know.
  21. Not the case. Scientists have a responsibilty to not only challenge accepted theories, but to consider new theories as well. Indeed they do, but do they do it?
  22. Does science have its own dogma? Is Christianity about dogma? Is scienca ABOUT dogma? neither are about dogma, but bastardizations of both have led to protocol. Christianity's started during the creeds (calcedon etc). Science's started when the Church started persecuting those who had the gall to say that the earth was round. As much as you would like to distinguish the two DoctorB, they have a lot in common. Pure Christianity is something beautiful: helping the poor, being self-less etc. Pure science is also beautiful: learning about our environment in an attempt to better understand it and increase the quality of life. Both are noble pursuits. The evil deeds of some does not diminish the good though. I will not say all scientists are bad nor all Christians are bad. In fact, most are trying their best to fullfil their way of life to the best of their ability. The two are not incompatible.
  23. yeah that is the album i have. 11 good ol' boys on the porch on the back?
  24. there's the problem. you cannot think of science as religion. it is empirical. religion is based on faith. as soon as you make science a religion, you are going to distort it and i think that is what whirlwind was saying. you are a scientific heretic is you say something against evolution.
  25. sure it does. here because it is a step in the right direction. a pro-active measure to limit the amount of fraudulent research going on... though $270,000 is shit comared to the budgets of these multi-national pharmaceutical companies. and those two german brothers that created a fraudulent physics system and that other guy that... on and on... that is the point paul.
