Not to sound cold, but I don't really understand why people get so upset at the "civilian" death count (use of quotes intended). Israel is at war, they have a right to defend themselves. If you were attacked, would you not defend yourself if you couldn't do it w/o killing innocents on the other side? If the terrorists can use innocents as human shields, and result in world opinion going against Israel, and pressure on Israel to stop the fighting, then they will have won. The main problem with the civilian deaths is that it is being used by the terrorists to drum up support for their cause. Unfortunately, no one has yet figured out how to eliminate terrorists without the side-effect of radicalizing even more people (appeasing them certainly doesn't work). Israel may be right in what they're doing if they can successfully eliminate Hezbollah as a military force. However, if they fail to do so, then yikes... good luck to them!

hi i am interest in this venture. dont listen to peoples who tell you not possible. alpine is about pushing limit. i have climb many montain in russia my country. include winter climb. i have long resume if you ask. i have here of libery ridge and wish to climb. perhaps we meet before for drink, to plan climb on this dates.

i don't think the guy weight 1000lbs is nearly as amazing as specialed's 1000lb full size pickup. was it made from cardboard or something? compact pickups weight a couple tons minimum.

chucK, that is true that it only hurts people infinitesimally, and it's not the same as something that directly negatively affects another person. it is still unfair though. it is like scamming the insurrance companies or something - if you do that, my premium will only rise an insignificant amount, and so it doesn't really affect me. but that doesn't make it ok. it affords priviledges to those who decide they can get away with it. if everyone started doing it, then everyone starts getting affected negatively. it's only NOT affecting people because the number of people who do it is small. but if everyone behaved like you, then the whole system falls apart.

i guess there's just a fundamental philosophy difference between those who have respect for others, and those who intentionally act selfishly. if that's the way you like to live your life, and you think its uncool to be considerate of others, well then...

some of the armchair speculation is pretty ridiculous, and obviously they've been "proven wrong". looks like dave parker needs to chime in and call you "bad ass". but to keep things in perspective, its not normal that you can drive to mp18 - only possible because of this year's poor low elevation snowpack. conditions are everything (well, not everything, but alot), and you read them well...
