  1. Nope. Actual untouched photo I took. i wish i knew how to do something like that! If you view the orginal size of this photo in the gallery you will see that none of the folks in the "lineup" has a pack on, and all are conspicuously dressed in running attire. Way to go Layton Frickin Granma's Running club Still funny tho
  2. When there is no snow or ice you can: Hike up the Chief in a rainstorm and talk to some Brits on an ill-fated ski vacation and then watch as a group of yuppies heads up the trail at 4:30 as it is getting dark clad only in jeans, down jackets (in the rain) and dress shoes. They smelled good though as they went off in search of an epic Or: you can go to the extremely crowded gym and watch guys in leopard print tights and blue hair deck from fifty feet because their ninety pound girlfriends forgot to tie into the floor See, you miss all this gong show shit when you go ice climbing and skiing. Fukin entertainin
  3. Fuk, I love the Katanas. Picked 'em up at that TNF sale. The only shoe besides the Mythos that I would actually pay regular price for. Incredible fit
  4. You can't unite your mind, body, and spirit at a fitness gym
  5. I am a full convert to bringing tunes on every trip. MD/mp3/iPod, whatever, crank the volume on a good set of earphones and it's basically a stereo. Very nice when your partner's misanthropic, pessimistic, self-loathing, misogynist, rants start to wear a little thin
  6. I would think it would be too soon to tell what things will be like in spring. I am no meteroiteologist, but I would also suggest the possibility of large discrepancies between precip #s down here and up there.
  7. I have those exact days off as well, as my flight will arrive from New York on the 28th. However I am having trouble locating the full-gore tex suit required to do this climb. Does anyone know who is still making these? I suppose I could wear my Bogner ski suit if I can't find a goretex one. Obviously gore-tex would be far warmer
  8. Don, when we climbed it on Sunday, I spoke to a party whose friends were on it Saturday. This was apparently "Dave Leahy" and "Jeremy", both of Bellingham.
  9. And at the end of the day you have your black book routes well protected and that is the only thing that matters in this world and the next . . .
  10. oops. yup, it's Thacker Creek, therefore Thacker Falls. will edit... the mind is slipping... (as for Carlsberg stacked on Carlsberg, somebody has got to learn to read ice from a distance...) cheers, Or maybe to stop trying to protect ice FAs with (poorly) attempted misinformation
  11. Way to go Don, that thing was to have been the plan for today if the weather hadn't f*&^ked off Tho I think that is "Thacker Creek", is it not?
  12. Wow, somebody told me that thing is like "Carl's Berg stacked on top of Carl's Berg" That's the last time I ask any questions about unclimbed routes in this forum
  13. Steve, that knee thing sucks, huh! So, if you're standing in the parking lot on the east side of the river, is this that big gully straight across
  14. and they look REALLY good too Alright Layton. Five bucks if you can guess these ones. They have names and they are hard
