  1. Hey maybe there is a secret rte between them? I saw mostly new hardware and possibly someone put up a new rte while they were at it.
  2. You are probably thinkin about silent running to the right but I don't think it joins total soul. That is if the topo is correct, it goes by itself up to 7 pitches.
  3. Right on Josh, I wish you and your soon to be bride all the best. Advice for me on the climbing part is it is all in how you train them. Sounds like you got a jump though (I think) if she likes similar things.
  4. Thinker and myself went out there (3 o'clock rock) on Sunday to do something and ended up doing total soul. I expected to get cooked hanging on that slab all day but not so. I expected it to be a bit crowded, but not so. Saw 1 person the whole day and that was when we were up on pitch #5. Only 1 car besides our's and Utah plates . Highlights, took a small whipper low and pitch#2 to set my shit straight for the rest of the trip. Was leary about that overhang by "batman bush" ( I so suck at overhangs) but not to bad. Top of pitch 5 is that daddy ledge and a great rest break to get relief from all the hanging belays. Looking towards the north we noticed a huge mushroom cloud which wasn't there 30 minutes prior??? What was up with that. Short 5.10b pitches at the top were interesting and fun fun fun. Great day, partner, and at the end for a weekend. and of course whoever put up that new hardware (mattp?) you deserve a medal. Much appreciated
  5. Chuck thanx for the info. Pretty much answered my question and seems that older bolt is just trash left hangin on the rock.
  6. Yeah, my partner noticed where the 2nd bolt used to be, I did not see it though. Still can't figure out the start with the 2 bolts that close together. Also noticed this was rated at 5.8 in nelson't #2 book and prolly so with the 2 bolts, but now 5.9 with just the one.
  7. Wondering about the 2 bolts at the start of this rte. There is a new one and then 1 about a meter below (older) Is the older one a part of damnation coming from below or the original bolt for Midway DD that just hasn't been removed yet?
  8. I am still in. Sounds like fun. First day of school and first camping trip in one week. Damn, sure grow fast don't they. Not sure where that campground is though. Is anyone bringing one of those full body kid harnesses just in case I can get him to give it a shot (he's 3).
  9. That's quite a bit of crash and burn for one trip, and summed it up as a great summer climb. True cascade hardmen. Way to go guys. Josh, hope you didn't hurt that audi.
  10. Ryland, I could give you beta if we made it up that far this past weekend. I suggest only going with dry weather, for the climb and 2 days prior to going to make sure the underbrush is dried out. The trail up to the the high point above/before the lakes are easy and well maintained. From there on though quite a bit of underbrush which when wet (like last weekend) will get you and everything on you SOAKED. Had a hard time finding the gulley to the col/camp in the fog and cloud deck. When you come to the 2nd lake outlet start gradually heading up on scree and it will funnel you into the correct gulley. DON'T go towards the big slab under the 3rd lake. pretty sure in clear weather it would be quite obvious. Also, if possible Mt. bikes would be perfect for the first 2+ miles as it is a flat march and would save time and would be sweet on the way out. hope this helps out some. Can't wait to go back and finish it off when it is dryer.
  11. Cool, a Jr. - thread. My best guess is 4 pages long. Good job though and bet it was fun.
  12. CBS check your pm's Ryland, small werld ehh. Would like to climb this ridge with the promise of a good summit day (Sunday). Been wanting to do this one for awhile and seems like the right time. If it happens this weekend I will shoot over any beta that is worthwhile for ya. If not the cc.com thing sounds good as well
  13. Anybody up for the NE ridge this weekend?
  14. Leave the poons, axe at home and bring an extra water bottle.
  15. I believe eric is right on for the cave rte, it starts down from the notch about 20 feet in which beckey describes (wrong) the N. face rte is to start. The N. face rte starts right at the notch, the cave rte starts down and across a weird ledge and now past a dead looking bush.
  16. picture does not work.
  17. I knew I forgot one
  18. Eric, did you mean to say winners, whiner's, or just forget the beer drink wine and than we would be a bunch of winers.
  19. I 2nd that vote. Got early though to beat the crowds.
  20. Promised to take a break this weekend and take my kid to the airshow on Saturday. starter crapped out on my truck and spent the day getting it to the shop. Couldn't resist today though and went up to 38 for some sport climbing and ended up nailing last summer's project that myself and neversummer spent to much time on. So Nick fucking AA I got it
  21. I would love to bring my 3 year old but thinking he is a bit to young yet? May come over to take him on his 1rst campout though and help out.
