Me and the Dell guy (in Nashville) did a full reformat. Not a quick one. Is there any hope? I do have both a second computer (it is a Mac tho) and a second HD on my PC. It's a small one, only 2gb, but there is nothing on it. I guess I should have either logged on on my other computer and let you guys talk me out of it or taken it to a shop. I don't know anything about computers.

The guy from Dell who walked me through the reinstall said either I picked something up on the Internet or something was pushed toward me. I'm not saying it was one or the other, cuz nobody knows! And Dalius yes we tried numerous less invasive fixes before the reformat.

My computer lost its lunch last night. I got the blue screen of death, and had to reformat. Lost everything. I mean EVERYTHING. So to remind everyone of what we all know but don't always do: use firewalling, and back up your data. If this crash was by any chance a little viral prank, congratulations, it was massive and catastrophic. Nice work.

It's really not Matt's perspective that is irritating, it's his tone and attitude.

About seven summers ago a friend and sometime confidante of mine, Chuck Drake, went on a trip to Denali. Weather and stuff made Deanali a no-go so they tried Hunter. Chuck and his partner did not make it home alive. I think I cried for a couple of months after that. Tonight I saw some people off who are going to do Denali, and I find myself feeling pretty anxious and unsure about the whole deal. I was not able to say the word "goodbye " to any of them. Anyone else have this kind of experience?
