  1. Only the most boutique yuppie "soil" will suit him, purchased for $700/bag from Whole Soils.
  2. Do they make Tofurduckens?
  3. Next thing you know they'll be making premixed berry coolers with rohypnol
  4. Scottish Tale has been a coastal classic since '96. I guess new depends how old you are though.
  5. Rich and Nick climbed A Scottish Tale behind the Chief http://richso.blogspot.com/2010/11/scottish-tale.html Matt finally redpointed his Smoke Bluff Wall mixed project, along with Tim Emmett http://www.flickr.com/photos/smasterman/sets/72157625463565614/with/5205288269/
  6. I had a couple BD IONs that were so small I lost them all. E+lite has the same scale issue.
  7. Trip: Hope - Cruel Pools Date: 11/24/2010 Trip Report: JMace and I took the day off work and climbed ~7 of the 8-9 pitches of Cruel Pools before being stopped by a giant gaping hole in the next-to-last pitch or so. We had mostly soloed to that point with one roped pitch on funky mushroomed eggshell ice (~ pitch 3, WI3sketchy shape at the moment). We were able to walk off to climbers right and find a no-rappels-needed descent back to the base albeit at the cost of an old booty stubby screw of Jesses's which chose this time to vanish back into the forest. Gear Notes: 5 screws and 1 60m 8.5mm rope Approach Notes: 5 minutes off the Silver Skagit Road at km2.1
  8. Your momma sucks the farts outta dead rats
  9. they had a couple in the factory store last week.
  10. Gee how does the data get to and from NZ? What do you think the Internet is like on South Georgia? or Kerguelen?
  11. Read white text under blog link in first post by highlighting Now read responses 1 and 2. PREPARING food at home is efficient. It's only driving to the store to get it that is energy-inefficient. Buying in bulk and storing it is a good way to reduce travel times and hence improve efficiency. BTW JayB I'm surprised you can call turnips, potatos, onions and rutabagas "boutique food", but if that's the filter you need to look through to justify your worldview, then thanks for letting us know.
  12. With the appendix gone, you should be ~ 0.1% lighter and hence your power to weight ratio should have improved somewhat.
  13. Talking about the peaks you climbed with a guide is like talking about the hookers you fucked.
  14. http://thelocavore.ca/ Waiting for first conservitard dumbfuck to label local eating a yuppie affectation and boast about the quality of trans fat laden walmart junkfood in response to this

  16. It's in dragon Lake, a suburb. Not far from where Lust Road turns into Gook Road. http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=walmart+quesnel&fb=1&gl=ca&hq=walmart&hnear=Quesnel,+BC&view=map&cid=6875879495616809579&ved=0CDYQpQY&ei=zsfqTIOxIJqIiAP8qbChBw&ll=52.957261,-122.442852&spn=0.004977,0.014323&t=h&z=17&iwloc=A
  17. there's climbable ice in around hope. lillooet is still pretty thin.
  18. Nope I have a separate mismatched pair of warm and not very dexterous dedicated belay/rappel gloves - the survivors from 15 years of destroying gloves. One MEC mixedmaster and one BD thing from two models ago.
  19. There's formed up and climbable looking ice on Sumas Mountain, of all places. A seep I've been eying for a couple years has made what looks like a nice pitch of ice. I'll see if I can get to it after work one day this week
  20. That's the wrong model. The right one is the one with nitrile up to the top of the finger.
  21. These look nice, where do you find them? I have never seen them in stores beore. I got mine at Cascade Industrial in Chwk, but that was last year. This year Mark's Work Wearhouse is carrying them with the "Dakota" brand slapped over the "Ninja" brand name, for $12.99 - check the catalog online. They are surprisingly hard to find in store, though. I was told today by a clerk there's one pair in Langley, 6 pairs in Aldergrove and none in Chilliwack or Abby. Go figure. There's also none at the Marks next to MEC in North Van. Lightfoot Gas in Lillooet had a couple pairs but the ones they had left when I was there last (early October) were all XL I got in 35-odd pitches on mine last year. Even at $12.99 a pop I figure I may as well buy another pair or two, if I can find them that is. Cascade might get some in now it's cold season.
