Important Info for Snoqualmie Summit Pass Holders
Dave_Schuldt replied to BreezyD's topic in Climber's Board
Snoqualmie Pass is owned by a big company with lots of other ski areas so they can take a hit better than others. -
And now for some politics: The memo floating around congress saying this was a great way to apeal to the Republican base. Siince no one wants to claim they wrote it, I think it was Karl Rove. This couldn't have come at a better time for Tom Delay who has ethiics trouble. Great distraction. I hope the judge in Florida has the balls to rule the bill unconstutional.

I wonder what those folks who think it's wrong to pull the plug think about capitol punishment? Might there be a double standard? If every life is sacred are some more sacred than others?

It doesn't mater who is paying for her care. We all pay one way or another, taxes or inshurence rates. There are different stages of coma, she may be talking, but is she resoponding to what's around her or is it just random. It's a tough call but after 15 years of little or no improvement it's time to make the call. The laws aren't keeping up with advances in medical care. Why all the attention on a middle class white woman when others around the world are starving. How much food and medicine would one day of her care buy for the starving in Sudan? In all the news reports I haven't heard anything about $.

Marie, I have to ask; have you stocked up on a life tiimes supply?

the feeding tube has been removed for now. The same people who opose abortion are supporting Schiavos' feeding tube. Some congressman said we have no right to decide to let her die. We decide who will live and who will die every day. We declared war on Iraq therefor we decided that a bucch of Iraqies and our troops would die. We decide not to provide health isurence to lots of people as a result they suffer and die. We let drunks drive.

It costs major $ to keep her alive. Could that $ be spent elswhere and save more lives? Drug rehab, health care for poor folks, healthy school lunches, STD screening, health education....... What is more important one life or many? It all comes down to money. Do we want to pay to keep one person alive? I wonder what would happen if those folks who wanted to keep her alive had to pay for her care.

No one has answered my question. Why do we look up to athletes and expect them to have better morals than the rest of us?

A gaurd for you car. Wow we could use that at Exit 38! Way cool Ken! -
That's ok, all those high school jocks are now bald, fat and have limp dicks.

Remember only winners get the $$$$. Steroids in sports who cares. If they want to deal with all the known and unknown long term side efects that's thier problem. So why are athletes held up as good examples to are kids anyway? After all thier just like anyone else trying to make a buck. We all cheat and work the system to get ahead or get a few more $$ so why can't they? Why should they be better than anyone else?

Beck and I wanted to ski up to Muir on Sunday. On the way up to Paradise we could see the spin drift, a bad sign. It was windy and cold in the parking lot and it was much stronger up on the ridge. We had hoped the Paradise Glacier would be a bit sheltered from the wind... no way. So we did a few turns back to the parking lot and hiked up to Van Trump Park in out tennis shoes. Everything is so dry, the woods smell like summer. The snow is subliming instead of melting. IT’S GOING FAST! First turns of the year. Well, remember how to ske, that's good. Till next tear.... All dressed up and no place to ski!

"Because the - all which is on the table begins to address the big cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculate, for example, is on the table; whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or price increases. There's a series of parts of the formula that are being considered. And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those - changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be - or closer delivered to what has been promised. Does that make any sense to you? It's kind of muddled. Look, there's a series of things that cause the - like, for example, benefits are calculated based upon the increase of wages, as opposed to the increase of prices. Some have suggested that we calculate - the benefits will rise based upon inflation, as opposed to wage increases. There is a reform that \would help solve the red if that were put into effect. In other words, how fast benefits grow, how fast the promised benefits grow, if those - if thatgrowth is affected, it will help on the red." -George W.
