  1. Yes: TR Awesome. I must have missed that one since I was in canada land then. Glad I could help with setting the skin track. It was windy as all hell when we were up there above the lake, so no surprise my skin track was gone. Side note, good chance I'll be living in Wenatchee later this year while doing my clinical rotations so hopefully we can get out then. Also, you know an Adam than owns/runs a gym in Wenatchee? Met him up at Keith's hut in BC, cool guy. Adam! Cool. Small world. Hey, is your email still the same address (norditalia)? If so, I'll have you put on the Climbing Chatter email list for weekday and weekend climbing for the Wenatchee Valley corridor folks.
  2. Yes: TR
  3. I like this topic. An free pass to chestbeat ! 1. Tie: Thin Red Line on Liberty Bell with Tom Michael in September and Mt. Stuart's Girth Pillar with Cfire and Flick in June. 2. Soloing Outer Space last September on a perfect early fall day. 3. Soloing Backbone Ridge again in August with not another soul around. 4. Sending my hardest trad lead at Castle Rock: No Such Thing as a Free Lunge, 5.11d R. 5. Skiing the Northwest Face to North Buttress Couloir on Colchuck Peak on 12/28/12.
  4. check them out and report back, please :-) I was up there last Friday, 12/28. I looked closely and saw no ice in the runnels. It looked like a lot light powder over rock. Here is a photo of Colchuck Peak with similar conditions. I skied the NBC, and there was no ice anywhere in the gulley.
  5. I'm sure this is a very compelling read, but it's almost impossible to read without at least a little bit of paragraph structure.
  6. Do you have to park at the Nordic Center these days for this and the JH tours?
  7. I've heard there are anchors on top of this boulder...
  8. Sorry, but they moved it to Black Thursday. You should have been camping out Wednesday after work and forgone your Thanksgiving dinner. Now it's 10% off retail. Too late now bro. There's always next year...
  9. They're the Anasazi velcro, bought last year so I'm pretty sure they came with onyx rubber.
  10. hmmm....less sticky than C4. Interesting. I'm trying to compare the two, alternating between my Katana's and Anasazi's. It's probably too subtle for me to notice, but to be honest, the stealth rubber does seem "grippier", but less sensitive than the softer vibram xs.
  11. Some dude on the colchuck glacier took a photo of Dan Helmstadter, Will Terrano and me on the NW face of Dragontail when we skied Triple Couloirs.
  12. For that matter, here is a recent photo of the Stuart side north, taken by Kyle Flick on 10/28:
  13. The forecast looks good. I'd like to get in a bunch of pitches at Vantage if possible this Friday. Lots of pitches, with little downtime until back at the car and Deschutes beer... Looking for a high mileage day, you know, to get my climbing fix until it gets good again in February. I'll be coming in from wenatchee, and can be there early. PM or respond with email: touring29@gmail John
  14. I've always been less than impressed with Crackmaster Lambada. The last 10 to 15 feet of it is attention getting loose and thin. Speedy recovery to the dude!
  15. Has anyone had any issues with the Vibram XS edge/grip rubber wearing out much faster than the 5.10 stealth rubber? I seem to be resoling my shoes about every 3 months. Granted, I climb about 5 to 6 days a week outdoors, but since I switched from 5.10 shoes to La Sportiva, it seems the XS vibram is a much softer rubber that is great for sensitivity and grip, but bad for durability. Just wondering if any other Sportiva users have had the same issue... Thanks
  16. Thanks Chris!
  17. Wow, you guys were front row and center to the shit show that followed. It's weird how we are still paying for that storm. Way to knock off a Stuart obscurity!
  18. Nah. Just stubborn. I like that it's your namesake climb!
  19. Thanks! Most definitely. I just don't have that physical and mental talent to onsight at or above my limit. At my age and limited talent level, you learn to savor any small victory that comes your way.
  20. I was getting obese.
  21. Thanks! The next project is Das., which is almost achieved. Does Rainbow Connection have enough pro for a safe lead? I TR'd after Lunge and didn't see a whole lot of opportunities. And yes, let's work on Shriek!
  22. The pitch is No Such Thing as a free Lunge, 5.11d R. I have been working on this one since Spring this year, mostly on solo top rope. For most of this season I couldn't come close to sending it. However, I shed 30 lbs and worked on specific body tension exercises, and voila! Sent it this afternoon. Even though I beat it into submission on tr, it still felt uniquely serious on lead. It's been an outstanding year! Still buzzing! NSTFL:
