That's hilarious! (-Is it just me, or are all of them fat?)
  4. Being a member of the right species helps.
  5. The secret to living a long life is not living a short life.
  6. You all go to hell, I'm going climbing.
  7. The secret to living a long life is not dying.
  8. Here, here. ...That should be "I am 43, AND a strong climber!"
  9. True. I was there 2 weeks before to climb Stuart, and we saw 2 goats, a nanny and a kid, and that was it. 2 weeks later were there to climb Ingalls, and we were surrounded by them. I think those posers just saw my camera and had to cheeze it up.
  10. I'll second that Ingalls Pass statement. I was up there last weekend, and I took these at Ingalls Basin on the way out of there on Sunday... Most goats I've ever seen close up in one place. But like he said, not the closest drive to where you are...
  11. I agree. I was there Saturday after doing the East Ridge, and we walked to the rap station from the summit. Note the climber in front. His main concern is not dropping his sammich. With two 60m ropes, you rap right to the next rap station at the bottom of the 5.4 slabs. From there you rap to just short of the very bottom of the climb, maybe 6 feet of class 4 (if that) from the bottom. The guy in the picture finished his sammich during the first rappel, and is about to finish the second part of the second rap down to the base of the hounds tooths.
  12. She looks to me like a single shot would have been approprate. TO THE HEAD!!!
  13. Last summer I was scrambling with some Canadians, and they said "Every time we go out with Americans, the topic always eventually gets around to bestiality."
  14. Maybe rig up something with slings, like the seatbelt extenders they use on airplanes...
  15. I wonder if those aren't photos from a "scrambling" course, rather than the BCC. Good point - must be, since they're not wearing harnesses. They nearly always have those on at the bcc field trips...
  16. Come to think of it, he might be good to have on a climb in case the group got off route - there would be plenty there to eat for days. My only worry would be that he might eat me first...
  17. What I'm saying is those pics are not the norm, either. You keep showing pics of the same fat guy. Okay, that's one guy out of one class out of one year, shown repeatedly. Yeah, it is funny, and I wonder if he ever finished the class. I can't imagine him making it to the base of a climb, let alone summiting. But he does make for amusing pics.
  18. Okay, true. On the other end of the scale though, I've read trip descriptions in their trip sign-ups that included the statements "must be able to tolerate copious amounts of foul language and un-PC behavior by both genders" and "slow party members will be killed and eaten". Mind you, these are NOT the norm, it is entirely up to the trip leader what goes into the Leader Notes of a trip description, and occasionaly someone with some gusto and some humor says what they feel.
  19. When you have teh layzer vision, you can do your own vasectomies.
  20. please post a TR...that should be entertaining....is it a themed cruise? Singles, swingers, gay, retired etc....? How about single gay retired swingers?
  21. The only reason I don't post TRs is that I only do boring climbs.
  22. ...And I wonder why all my freinds call this site 'cascadewhiners dot com'...
  23. I also like the woman standing on the rope, grinding dirt through the sheath. Great technique!
  24. Love the beard, too. And the look. He's into it.
