  1. Personally, I consider life to begin at implantation, so I have no problem with invitro or stem cell research. Hell, even oral contraceptives don't prevent fertilization and I'm sure good with their use. My point is that there are others--not all of them religious--who have another valid point of view and that our previous president's decision was probably less idealistic and more considered than Obama's recent pen strokes on the matter.
  2. Stay behind the buttress, Ivan! There's a TV-sized TV a comin' down. (Tell TTK to look up.)
  3. Amazon couldn't cough up Robinson Crusoe--it's on back order. I found a copy at Borders, but they wanted $39.99 so my quest is underway without the crown jewel. Between work, night classes, endless Spanish exercises, biking up Green Mountain/Mount Pete, a little skiing, racquetball, endless stairs at the gym, and, of course, spraying, I have managed to watch/re watch four Mars movies: Total Recall - Good flick, but not enough landscape. Red Planet - Not well reviewed, but I really liked it. Plausible. Mission to Mars - Pretty lame. Some good scenery, but the story line is beyond stupid. Ghosts of Mars - Pure torture. C-grade acting without any titty to redeem it. Watching this movie was worse than dragging my cement-filled tire by a chain screwed into my Atlas up the cable-line on Tiger. The quest continues...
  4. Nowadays its spelled "North Mexico" if that's the case then the percapita IQ should be going up, and body mass index should be going down. No more chicken fried steak just beans and rice. Oh no, that's not racist.
  5. Why? There are many people who view morality apart from religion but still see a danger in proceeding down a path to save one human life at the expense of an innocent and sentient being. Bush's decision to not allow taxpayer funding of stem cell research--while not pursuing a ban on private research--struck a fair balance, IMO. It seems to me the argument is similar to the one wherein some view the data gained during nazi medical research as poisoned fruit and some view it as valid and useful despite the source. I honestly don't know the answer to either question, but to portray those who follow a valid and reasoned morality as evil is just plain obnoxious.
  6. Weak, OW. Only federal funding and govt research of new lines has been restricted. The majority of research--done by the private sector--has remained unaffected.
  7. Stem cell research was never banned.
  8. Beautiful country--but isn't it kind of dangerous driving on the wrong side of the road?
  9. By any chance, were you raised in Texas?
  10. all we do crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see
  11. Economic freedom is a human right.
  12. Scientific methodology brought us evolution? And all this time I was thinking it happened all by itself.
  13. His proposal that these jobs not go simply to "highly skilled workers" casts doubt on his intelligence. I don't know about you, but when I drive across a bridge I like to think it was designed and built by the most qualified and highly skilled workers available and not patched together by the recipients of a social welfare program.
  14. Skis: 2006 model year - 167cm - Like New Bindings: 2007 Model Year - Size Medium - Like New $375 PM me if interested.
  15. The constitution is also silent on the bar coding of infants, the internet, automobiles, and restaurant food. So, what? Had Madison, Adams, Jefferson known our country would be rife with adults in need of a continuous mental spoon-feed, like you, they would have thrown in the towel and hollered "God save the king!" in unison.
  16. You didn't click on the link. It's not Rangel we're talking about.
  17. A bill circulating in Olympia will require underage hunters to be accompanied by an adult. Damn good idea. But a companion bill will require ALL backcountry users--including hikers--to wear one of these during hunting season: Hey Olympia: AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. Bear season currently begins August 1--it should be pushed back to September just like deer season. http://apps.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/summary.aspx?bill=1116&year=2009
  18. Give it a rest.
  19. ...this dumbass? [video:youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opxuUj6vFa4
  20. Bush --> Rendition --> Bad Obama --> Rendition --> Good? Bombing the house where his family sleeps is ok, but water boarding him for 37 seconds puts our nation's morality at risk? Thanks for that brief peek inside the liberal mind.
  21. Gee, are you sure all that's constitutional?
  22. He believes otherwise. He freelances for the A-C-L-U don't 'cha know?
  23. I guess, once again, you don't want to address the flaws your view holds. Only pontificate. My question was sincere. What do you think?
