I would climb first on Temple Ridge- First I would do Prusik, Flake Tower, Monument, Boxtop, and then High Priest if I could fit it in. Then I would move to Temple Canyon- Climb if possible: Professor, Meteor, Comet, Lighthouse Tower, Candle, MT Temple. Then I would walk out the Rat Creek and hit a Rat Creek spire or 4. The slog over to Austera looks pretty cool. I would like to do it on skis next spring. Not necessarily touching Eldo summit. I saw some stuff on Cascadeclassics that looked like a good exploration. However I am slow and horrible skier. Might need to plan extra days if I try that!

Tom, Was that your first climb or did you climb it before knowing the way and all? A valid question not a smart ass one. I find it easier to do that way most of the time. Just curious.

It does not look reasonable from my point of view unless you are ninja walking lung with light packs.

I am from the suburbs of smog choked LA. I am never going back. I did not even know what a glacier was until I came here. Come on down and we'll hook up to slam some guinness stout and climb a peak.

Sahale arm has a fair amount of snow still. It is melting fast though. Summit rock depends on your comfort level. I have soloed it twice and climbed it roped once.

You can see the arm in the other posting photo form Friday last week under North Cascades- Spier,Formidable. It should give you a general idea how much snow is there. You'll be huffing in the woods with your skis no doubt. Probably all the way to the pass and more. ONe week before the snow went all the way to the parking lot. That should give you an idea of how fast it is melting eh?

Hi Ian, If you want to climb in the N Cascades eating roast snafflehound is a must. I dont carry food into the mountains I carry my snafflhound trap. If you can handle that we are great partners. What do you think
