I wish someone would hold my feet to the fire…last weekend I climbed so poorly that I made myself feel better by commented on how enjoyable the whole "wilderness experience" was. Can't sink much lower than that.

exactly. just a little food for thought as to why we'd climb a route, and why folks keep mentioning those route over and over again... Someone may have climbed eve dearborn this weekend, not sure. Two friends bailed on it on thursday. Said the gully looked ez, the crux was extreme moss/shrub climbing to avoid the waterfall pitches. I'd still be psyched on it, just cuz. The '78 route looks like the bussiness though Chestbeating: They should have listened to me......

Interesting. I went there once to check them out. I am not so sure I would call them "pillars". Although if I remember correctly the bottom is fairly steep. I would think that any FA especially in the early 80s would be a fairly significant ascent.
