  1. Imagine => The President has a huge amount of classified intelligence information concerning a possible threat by X. The President after reviewing the information comes to the conclusion that X poses a threat to his country. It should be noted that some of his administration came to the opposite conclusion. Some of the classified information clearly did not support the threat scenario. Some did and some frankly was ambiguous. The President having come to his conclusion now has to convey his position to the nation at large. A lively debate takes place. The President decides to declassify info and “leak” some info to the press. Is it at all reasonable to think that he should reveal all the information? Of course not. Since he can only release a small percentage of the info should he would naturally release the information that he felt clearly supported his cause? Yes he is an advocate. There is nothing sinister about this behavior. Note to CHuK: This behavior is not lying. Note to Mattp: Please show where I "manipulat[e] debate of the "facts"" or "sidetracking of any discussion away from the issue" or you "noted it was unclear what that press release actually said"
  2. Oh please CHuck, who would argue anything else? Do you think any President has acted differently? Should a President act differently?
  3. Emphasis added! Mattp's earlier post: Please show where Matt "noted it was unclear what that press release actually said." Full quote of Matt's reference:
  4. Typical post there Mattp. As a matter of accuracy Libby's claim came out more than 30' ago. Here is a longer piece from the NY Sun that came out much earlier: I think it adds a slightly different twist to the matter. I am glad that you did note that the limited write up in the USA today does show a bias..... PP
  5. Just looked at the forecast => rain this weekend. I am going to try and get out tonight too. THE PC ought to move to rainy Saturdays instead of sunny Tuesdays
  6. Is everyone going to Index instead?
  7. Where is it this week?
  8. Speaking of a little nip and tuck.
  9. Don't be such a fag Be aware
  10. Don't be such a fag; I am just checking. Ouch!
  11. Remember what the doormouse said.....
  12. I would never have made my earlier post if the link was a simple NAMBLA link.
  13. Useful for determining ratings: Rating Machine
  14. Try Here I can't believe you posted that link. I am at work. Please indicate not work safe links! Besides it made me sick to my stomach.
  15. Jeesh...the lack of votes easily confirms Leroy's claim last summer when e stated that "there are no climbers in Washington." GS - It depends. Know any good rope handlers?
  16. How many have been in a realtionship to support your climbing habit (ie your un or underemployed lifestyle)
  17. Here is the most memorable quote from the entire exchange: She's an American.
  18. An (early?) 60's Squamish guide rated climbs about 2 grades lower than routes in Yosemite. It took awhile for the ratings to be adjusted. Those interested can go to the Mounty library and research the matter themselves, although the link provided earlier will provide supporting evidence. In latter publications this error was noted. The point I was making was simply that ratings were not so consistent in the past either.
  19. Don't get me started about grade inflation. Years ago Squamish ratings were the standard and now they are about two grades lower. Drives a guy crazy.
  20. Ya but 3 weeks of sun can make a big difference.

    Getting ASS

Hey with language like that Alpinek, I just might have to come over drink your beer and kick your ass tonight!
  22. I'm not a big Grace fan, but you gotta love naming a solo album "Manhole." Give me Balin anyday. Robo - What's the date of your fav live show or two? I have around 10 or so shows myself.
  23. I'd stay away from the Apron. Check online conditions and if the conditions are right consider Lover's Leap. Haystack 5.8 , Bear's Reach 5.7, East Wall 5.6, Corregation Corner 5.7, Surrealistic Pillar 5.7 will beat just about anything in Yosemite at the same rating.
  24. JS did WR better than JA ever did but..... live JA is the best! I was listening to a 25 minute Spare Chaynge last night on the way home from work just last night. Baxter does rock.
