I think these pics are several miles east of the town. The town looks pretty good in comparison. Much closer to town the river has cut a channel very close to the road (Index-Galena) which looks, to me at least, like another washout waiting to happen.

Is a moral/ethical change really coming to Congress? How can we tell? Here is my suggestion: Background – Many months ago the Washington Post reported that as payback to the Congressional Black Caucus for helping her become Minority leader she would bypass ranking member Jane Harman and install second ranked Alcee Hastings as ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. The story has never been denied. ( WP Link , His local paper confirms ) Hastings was impeached by the Democratically controlled House and thrown off the bench by the Democratically controlled Senate for bribery and perjury (3rd judge in the 20th century) Pelosi voted against him. I would also note that Hastings has hired on his congressional payroll his former attorney who was disbarred for misuse of client’s funds in 1992. Proposal – If we get wind that this is seriously being considered I say that Pelosi and fellow Dems has proven herself to be not to be agents of change. If it actually happens we are truly screwed.

They will lead the most honest, the most open and the most ethical Congress in history. As far as the Whitehouse: the success of the president is always good for the country, and Democrats hope that we can work together for the American people and will do so working together with the administration and the Republicans in Congress in partnership, not in partisanship.
