after 6pm the parking on the streets is free. geez. i went, got the alumni discount, and really enjoyed will's presentation. good philosophy he lives by, that guy.

well, maybe you think it's funny because [i'm assuming] you're not a homosexual. saying "you're gay" to someone may not have anything to do with that particular person's sexuality, but it certainly does have negative connotations that stem from homophobia. i can see the humor in it, but i also see the gross negativity ... and - if nothing else - it reeks of poor taste.

well put, j dog. i don't know why people think bc skiing is really more hardcore than lift skiing. maybe that depends where you're skiing but i've definitely done some bc stuff that isn't nearly as exciting as some of the stuff i've skied from the lift. and that said i've also done backcountry stuff that way rocks over anything i could ski inbounds - although some of that was technically lift-served as well. i guess it's all relative ... and subjective. call me strange but i love it all.

hey, just 'cause you have an at setup doesn't mean you can't ride the lifts. of course, you do get texans remarking on how funny your bindings look. i might be able to come - either weekend, but won't know for sure until it gets closer to it.

why is this in the new rock climbing forum? i bet rumr is into "dressing up" on a year-round basis ...

i've had my best ski season ever, too. over 90 days on the snow so far. kind of hard to resist the lifts when they're a 2-minute walk from your door and don't cost a thing. i'll admit the backcountry stuff can be more rewarding, but for the most part i really enjoy it all. looking forward to some spring touring!
