  14. What if PP posted more about climbing (or snafflehounds) and less boring political links, or even discussed ideas instead of just posting links to articles?
  15. you know maybe it was the rope cutting into the snow of the ridge that provided enough friction to prevent the sling shot effect, not any tie in.
  16. Takeda and Raleigh used an ice axe as a giant hook but they didn't do leashless dry tooling
  17. free routes on El Cap or wherever that are all free climbing are so 90's. the new rage in freeing big wall routes is incorporating dry tooling like this new Grade VI 5.13- D10+ in the black canyon

  19. I like these shoes - super comfy, climb 5.8 with the laces tightened, can walk in, do Prusik WR and hike out all in one shoe, but the durability is an issue. Had one pair last 1.5 year, newer pair lasted 2 yrs and both are basically Ok for walking around the Smoke Bluffs but unsuitable for longer hiking now (sucked walking down from Chief summit in them on Monday). thinking of getting some Kayland Superguides, if anyone has any experience with the latter pls. comment. Or if newer Mt Masters (ie built in 2003 or 2004) have increased durability.
  20. maybe the freshiezone can be renamed the slushiezone or the cornzone.

  22. by some definitions of spring, it is still spring and will be right up until june 21. however, midsummer eve is less than one month away, the implication of this datum is that this is early summer. arguably, one could say it is sprummer right now. what it isn't is ski season.
  23. read all about it fat
