Has anyone been up to Boston Basin in the last couple of weeks? How is the glacier? The trail? How long is the approach with a day pack and a small rack?
Any recent beta on the trail in to Boston Basin? How long from trailhead to the Basin? Am thinking about Sharksfin in a day, do I need crampons and an axe? Will poles suffice?
Thanks.
Did the east ridge in a pair of Montrail Mazamas yesterday. Route was fun and not all that hard. If I were to go again I would try to link the ridges as someone had suggested before.

Has anyone been up to Ingalls Peak/Ingalls Lake over the last couple of days? Where is the snow level? I am trying to pick the appropriate pair of boots/approach shoes for the week-end.
Have ran a lot at Pt Defiance and went out to the Middle Fork Snoqualmie this week-end. Both are cool places.
I have never been to Any Trail. Where is that?
I am not a big fan of trails with lots of elevation gain/loss. Running downhill for an extended period of time trashes my knees.
Have recently got into trail running as a great way to spend time outdoors with the wife and dog. Does anyone know of any place to get a guidebook/descriptions of trails that make for fun running? Does anyone have some favorite places they would be willing to share?
There is also info listed in Jeff Smoot's Rock Climbing in Washington book. Have never climbed at Mazama but have had dinner and beers at the little restraunt next to the gas station. Good food, good beer, good view.
I quit eating about 6 months ago. Not only am I saving weight, I am saving money. No groceries=no cash

With my new found knowledge I will hit the local gear shops, try on a variety of shoes for fit and comfort, then surf the internet and hopefully get them for 1/2 price. Thanks for the input.
Dan - Do you ever run the trails at Pt. Defiance? They have miles of trails so both my dog and I get a good work out. I think he likes running trails more than I do.
Yeah, I was looking at the NB and the Montrails. I am very fond of my NB road shoes and very fond of my Montrail boots. What about gore-tex shoes? I have heard pros and cons on both sides.

I am currently using a regular old pair of New Balance running shoes for my trail running escapades. While at SORR-EI on Sunday I was looking at their selection of trail running shoes and wondering if they actually provided more support/stability? Any thoughts or experiences to share?

I sent you the PM. I can't get out for the entire week-end but it looks like Sunday is open and was wondering if you wanted to do some cragging at Exit 38.
