Reggae Roulette: Get a rotation of about five Bob Marley songs, and just play them on sample for that drive through the San Joaquin Valley. Keep a loaded pistol in the console between the driver and the passenger. See who shoots himself first.

The Sox won woo hoo. Unfortunately for them no one further than 30 miles from Faneuil Hall will even remember by Halloween. The big news is of course A-ROD!!!!!!1 Such cajones to make his big announcement during the climbaxe of the Series. Perhaps his only achievement left is trying to be more hated than Barry Bonds. Maybe he can get a one-year deal in SF?

Actually, I think we should all feel sorry for this guy. He is going through a hard time in his life (though arguably many have it harder). You guys are so mean. He's just making plea for everyone getting a handout in terms of their college education. Who amongst you has not said some stupid shit when you were 24? He's acting no more entitled than people here thinking they should get free healthcare because they exist or cheaper insurance because of their studly bike riding, or any of us other fucks who think we should get access to govt. built roads and trails for free. Jeez Dwayner thinks that he is entitled to have all climbers be just like him, and nobody ever gives him shit. Lighten up dudes!

Hey! check out my new location!!! <------

Ding ding ding! It was indeed GWB. Having him dressed in the grim reaper garb was a nice touch. Though that has probably been done to death in protest marches around the globe. The selection was made by his peers. Good to know our brainwashing is working! No accounting for taste though, guess what the "most original" one was" A hobo dumbass kids

I wonder how much the judge in Bellingham would fine that guy for not getting a permit!
-
Close! You're on the right track. Answer should be sorta obvious now.

Ahem, back to kids and their costumes: Anybody care to guess the costume that won today for the Washington Middle School eighth graders in the "scariest" category?

nice catch! The irony is so perfect it makes me wonder if this "letter" is in fact a troll (better check snopes.com)

I was up at Sno Pass earlier this week (the nice day!) and there's a bunch of snow already, but not enough to make travel easier. That is, 4" - 2'. Anything requiring a boulder-field traverse with that kind of coverage would be harrowing right now. If you've got some 4th class climbing to do, make sure it's on South facing rock. Obviously snow cover will vary depending on location, but all those lovely Snoqualmie Pass 3rd and 4th class jaunts are a little out of condition at the moment. Though it did precipitate again on Wed, and now the temps are much colder....

Jeez that kid sounds like a profoundly naive, narcissistic kid who is obsessed with his own righteousness. I'd say he has a future in Alaska but I guess that didn't work out for him. Maybe he shoulda just got his parents to pay for his college.

Was your rope made in China?

I guess it depends on the purpose of opposing them. If you are opposing them because there are two possible directions of pull (e.g. down if the leader falls before placing a piece, or up if after) then there doesn't really seem to be a need to attach them together at all. If you are opposing them so they will stay in the rock (mutually hold each other into directional placements) then if one piece blows it would appear that the other piece may be rendered useless anyway.

Don't you have to clove-hitch both?

Literally red handed? "This abrasion here? Er...on the way up to the office my hand got caught in the elevator door. When I was trying to hold it open for an old lady. Damn elevator doors!" ... "Oh this one, the other hand? Errr..."

There is a long violent history of differences of opinion on monogamy (i.e. murder of cheating lovers and/or or their partners). Do you think such violence is inevitable due to us being hard-wired to expect/need monogamy? Or is it the result of people feeling justified by societal expectations of monogamy to respond violently?

It's gonna be damned expensive to rebuild all those homes now that we've got this illegal immigration thing licked!

yes, that's why he qualified with "unless you own it outright"

Trent Lott is arguing vocally for action on climate change? "Who'd a thunk it?"

Yeah REALLY slow! It took over 5 days for some moderator wannabee to bitch about the impertinence of this post in the North Cascades forum. And it was an actual moderator to boot! As I often say, "Who'd a thunk it?!"

Dead straight on. I highly value the ability to be able to constantly evaluate new information and allow it to influence one's opinions/choices.

Did you have to prove evidence of lack of insurance? If yes, then WHAT ARCHENEMY SAID!!! If no, GODDAMNED GOVT. BAILING OUT THEIR RICH INSURANCE FRIENDS!!!

Yes, Crystal does at least deliver the goods.. I'm mostly just crying over what I've lost. Crystal's former policy of $5 for 10 and under was the best deal around. They'd make it back by over-pricing (relative to the competition) on the 11-12 yr olds. Unfortunately, now the 7-10's are standard pricing, but they still gouge for the 11-12's ($53 ).
