Doesn't anybody wanna go to Index today?
-
Anybody wanna climb tomorrow (Friday)? Index? Tooth?? Whatever. I know it's late. But we would not have to leave super early for either of my subgestiums. Shoot me a PM or email cspieker@NOSPAEMattbi.com (remove the obvious capitalized part).

Is the basalt one at Smiff? Looks like too much vegetation for Vantage.

hold down your right-click mouse button and run it over screen below to view your secret message!! --------------------------- Made you look!!! HAW!! --------------------------

This study is obvious evidence that the currently disregarded technique of blood-letting is efficacious in stroke prevention. I wonder if we could run a study that compared stroke risk in trad versus sport climbers? Have to wait a few years I guess til there's enough sport climbers old enough to have strokes.

That's what I thought/think too, at least the part about being straight up (he would definitely hurt his political career more by going against his boss the PotUS). But some of that shit he 'divulged' doesn't make sense does it? I mean, if they have all these satellite photos of weapons factories, why don't they just tip off the inspectors and get them out there to inspect them? Does anybody know the answer to this? I'm still hoping it's a big brinksmanship game. We are not going to invade, but want to make it credible that we are just nuts enough to do so. So far though that f**kin' Sadam is calling our bluff.

No you don't. Not very hard anyway.

The problem is of putting an extra workload on people who are already busy (teachers and parents) for no good reason. Cracking down on "school lunch fraud" is not going to save much money, if any, after figuring in the costs of the paperwork that somebody will have to get paid to do somewhere, even though they are probably just going to make teachers do most of the work for no extra compensation.

JayB challenged me to climb Positive Vibrations without clipping the bolts. I am going to Vantage to pick up some easy beers soon!
-
Ehmic! Didn't you see what I posted. It doesn't get good (i.e. cheap) until after 9pm. Last time I went to a Pub Club on the East Side (in Jerkland) the Seattle contingent left soon after I got there (maybe it is me?). Cavey and others hung later.

In the past I've used some of these graemlins as Avatars. Some posters have used some of these graemlins so much that with the new "last 25 posts" display I'm starting to think of these gremmy's as some people's avatars, and some just look like what you'd think of as that person. You figure it out. Caveman - Dru - Iain - Trask, Muffy - Gapertimmy - Muffy - Erik - . Any more?

What about the Latona for the smokeless weenies? Is that close enough to Ballard/Fremont for all you can't-be-further-than-three-blocks-from-my-house weenies?

Are there any good pubs in the North End?

Good Bouldering/Climbing spots in Seattle area??
chucK replied to MarshMan19's topic in Climber's Board
It was not "posted" the last time I drove by there (within the last couple of months), however I noted just today that the UW Rock IS posted, something to the effect of "criminal tresspass" and "subject to prosecution" and mean stuff like that. I also noted that UW Alumni are no longer on the list of authorized individuals. -
Bzzzt! Here's the script Bud: Hey! Hey look at that. Look at those assholes over there. We see a group of people around a tow truck with a car being hooked up to it. Bud: Ordinary fucking people I hate 'em. Otto: Me too. Bud: What do you know? See an ordinary person spend his life avoiding tense situations. Repoman spends his life getting into tense situations. Assholes ! Lets go get a drink.

Erik, That is close enough. It is not Big Snow Mountain, but it is just East of Big Snow, sharing the same drainage. The guy who took this picture called it "Hardscrabble Dome" (it's above Hardscrabble Lakes).

Mattp, You didn't reply to bobinc, whether your other shot was Thomson. Is it Thomson or perhaps Summit Chief? Here's a more difficult (?) one

I wonder how much the view increases the value of his house? I hope they use some of that money to erect a giant billboard with all-night fluorescent lighting pointed right at his deck (until the new trees reach the height of the previous ones in 30 years). Maybe they could put a picture of this guy on it.

Wayne, Nice job! It's tough writing something like that isn't it? Here's some criticism. It's meant in a constructive way. I hope you take it that way. You might try researching your topic a little more thoroughly . Not in terms of CC.com but compared to what else is out there. A lot of what you write about (flaming, BS) is everywhere and is not big news. Especially, since as Jon wrote, you've been scooped already. Also, I think some of what you write about "no other place does ____" is not accurate. I expect you'd get a lot more interest if you tried to distill what makes CC.com special among other internet climbing discussion forums. To understand what is and isn't unique about CC.com you need to know what else is out there. Your article sounds a bit like Scotteryx gushing about Eight-mile rock. Sure it is a cool craglet, and it is fun to be reminded of what is what like viewing stuff through the eyes of a newbie; but it does get old pretty quickly, and would you even care one iota if Eight-mile rock was not someplace you'd visited or planned to visit? Which brings me to this point. Your article is too local. I feel the main draw to this site is that it is chock full of local information and provides a way to interact and meet local climbers. I doubt I'd be spending much time here if I lived in California. The only way you're going to make this article interesting to someone outside the PNW is to provide some info of why this site may be interesting to them. What does make this site unique? Why do non-locals like Carolyn and Freeclimb post here? That is an intersting topic in itself. There's a discussion on rec.climbing comparing rec.climbing to a couple of the CA-based forums here if you wanna read it.

Dberdinka, Correct! Though there's no Chikamin in this view. Chimney is in the center (N Peak most prominent from this view), some of the Lemah peaks to the left and Overcoat over on the right. Mattp, I think the time has run out on yesterday's pix. Spill it! Especially if you're going to start posting more.
