  6. I think it's actually illegal for most of you out there to boulder on the UW Rock too
  7. I'm with Tony the Tiger, online polls are gay. The poll I'm talking about was a "scientific" poll conducted by NYT/NBC. I have a little more faith in that one.
  8. Yeah and what about the other 60%? I doubt it's any different,
  9. So true. The pollsters can ask the questions in shifty ways so everyone's opinion is tweaked. But it is no harm/no foul as long as the actual question asked is presented along with the results. The shiftyness comes when people start "interpreting" the results. The way Mattp presents the question, my interpretation is that only 40% of the people in the US (estimated) felt that it would be cool to invade Iraq even if noone else wanted us to (last Monday, before the State of the Union address).
  10. So what is the difference between libertarianism and anarchism? Aren't they both against all government? Are GregW and MtnGoat anarchists? Did they throw bricks at Starbucks? And Trask...how did you know it was bricks that broke those windows...interesting, very interesting
  11. I though the recent poll estimated only 40% of USA'ers supported war in Iraq.
  12. 28th AVE NE and 72 NE st Wasn't there a thread about this not too long ago where somebody posted a civil ordinance forbidding climbing on that boulder? And by the way, it doesn't really look that good. UW Rock looks way more fun.
  13. Speaking of anger anybody know of a way on the innernet to track down someone's address using their licenseplate #?

  16. You make me sick you traitor faggot. Why don't you go move to Iraq. They've got a good criminal justice system for your unthankful ass.

I don't get this . If we're seeing J-berg behind Fobidden, then we must be viewing from somewhere North like Eldorado, and thus it would make sense that the W Ridge is on the right and the N Ridge is on the left wouldn't it?
  18. I don't get this . What do you mean by that? Can you elucidate Britain and Portugaul's real, vivid, and recent experience with tyranny? How about Denmark? Are you talking about the German occupation 60 years ago? Then where are Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, France and Austria? How about Spain and Italy? Are you talking about them being run by dictators 60 years ago? Then what about Germany? I guess I will buy that Poland, Hungary and Czechoslovakia have experienced real, vivid and recent tyranny, but so have Romania, Bulgaria and every former Soviet Republic. I don't see them on this list. So anyway, I don't really think there's anything "telling" about it, other than you don't understand sorting out cause and effect very well. Oooooh look, isn't it telling that our strongest European support is coming from countries that follow the Mediterreanean diet.

  21. I think N Korea's response shows you the danger of our "preemptive attack" doctrine. It's like asking for unconditional surrender. N Korea's got nothing to lose. They know that they're next on the list after we clean up from our session on Iraq so they might as well provocate now and try to get something for it. Which they did.

  23. In the past, it's been known as respect, you prick. Greg dude, was this the first presidential speech you ever watched or something? Every one I've seen (rep Prez's and dem Prez's) it is common practice for half the hall to stand up and hoot every time the Prez finishes a sentence, while the other half remains seated and acts like they just smelled something really bad. The only times everybody stands up is during the frequent vaccuous candyland blurbs that noone can disagree with like "We want our kids to be the best in Math" or "We need to protect our liberty", or the ever popular "America is the greatest _____ country in the world!!!". Did you notice how quiet the applause was when Bush proposed a bunch of money for treatment for the drug addicted? Sounded like not even George's side of the aisle gave their "respect" to that one.
