Skatan Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 My partner used a pin but only to conserve screws at a belay. Plenty of ice though and picket was handy. Giver it was in great shape. Quote
Braydon Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Anyone want to get on this sunday pm me up!!! Quote
Braydon Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Come on guys really???? No one else wants to climb this??? Quote
Corduroy Man Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Awsome, looks incredible. Rock on! Quote
Dane Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 No need for rock gear right now....this thing would take a screw anywhere. In the last 15 years I've never seen so much ice on this route. For the aspiring alpinists out there you'll never find any better AI2 or any better conditions than right now. And by noon today there is a heck of a boot pack in as well. You know you want to. Go get some! Wayne and Dane on the foggy, windy and cold NF It was 50 degrees in the shade when i left home on Tiger mountain at 9:30 this morning and well below freezing when I started up the face a couple of hrs later. Braydon Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Wow 468 views and not one person wants to go up there...wish we had more climbers than sprayers on here. Quote
wayne Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I feel your pain Braydon. Brett and Dave , did you get your screw back? Quote
Braydon Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) Hahaha Wayne would you like to go up there? Again... Edited February 7, 2010 by Braydon Quote
wayne Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 It took me 6 tries to do this ascent! I dont know your comfort level, but it makes a great solo. Quote
Dane Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 10 climbers on Chair today..regular 3 ring circus. Braydon, you might have more luck if you just show up at the base of the climb around 9am roped up, gear on your harness and an attitude, dude Quote
AlpineK Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Wow 468 views and not one person wants to go up there...wish we had more climbers than sprayers on here. Actually I was more interested in this picture's view of the snow-skiing conditions. [img:center]http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/data/504/medium/127_2733.JPG[/img] It may inspire a ski day. Quote
Dane Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Tour over into Snow lakes looked like perfect snow for skiing to me. Bet they got a new inch or two last night. Quote
Rafael_H Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Plenty of new wet snow there, saw loads of skiers at the "Thumb" last Sun (2/7). Went alone on Dane's hint, was foggy and snowing the entire day - there were reportedly a party of 2 and another soloist ahead of me, and a party on the NE Butresss but by the time I was on top ~2:45PM there were no traces of any footprints. Also SAR was all over the mountain and left a pure staircase to the base by 1PM, but when I got down after 5PM, only hints of all those prints remained. Couldn't even butt-slide far. These nice guys let me go ahead, thank you!!! See the tools, reminded me that Simpson's Eiger feaure, sans wool gloves Quote
