Cpt.Caveman Posted December 28, 2002 Posted December 28, 2002 Col spankhismonkey and I skied up a few miles on the Mountaineer creek Road yesterday from Icicle Road. About 2 miles up we heard snapping trees, grinding boulders and shit a few seperate times so we left. We knew the danger was to be more significant this weekend. Better safe than sorry. No Aasgard Pass ski for me this weekend Quote
Toast Posted December 29, 2002 Posted December 29, 2002 Yah dude, smart move... but I was smarter... I stayed home. Quote
z Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 Gapers, Z yo-yo skied Granite Mountain (2 South/SW aspects in high to considerable conditions). Key is to ski fast and don't stop. Z P.S. Shoot guns Quote
mattp Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 The south slopes of Granite Mountain can be very difficult to evaluate because of all the cross-loading that takes place there. Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted December 30, 2002 Author Posted December 30, 2002 You crack me up z. I'll have to bring some guns next time. Quote
Greg_W Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 Is Charlie's AK and a 12-ga. effective for avalanche control? Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted December 30, 2002 Author Posted December 30, 2002 Probably better off with some mk-19 automatic grenade launchers Quote
