rl23455 Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Woman+dead+after+fall+from+Chief+Squamish/8749709/story.html I only post it because we were there for four days, left at five pm yesterday. Quote
underworld Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 update to the article make is sound more like a hiker.. not that it really matters. tragic no matter what. i was at the top of the split pillar when it happened and was about the worst thing i could imagine seeing. unrelated: about an hour beforehand, a large chunk of rock fell off the sword pitch. narrowly missing a few parties on the route and several parties at the base of exasperator (etc)... a bad day coulda been a whole lot worse. dberdinka Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 J$s%s you had to watch that? I'm so sorry. The sound a falling body makes is definitive and hard to ever forget. Quote
G-spotter Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 i was at the top of the split pillar when it happened and was about the worst thing i could imagine seeing. Squamish RCMP are looking for witnesses. It sounds like you are one of the few people who may actually have seen the event. Please give them a call if you haven't already: contact numbers here http://squamish.ca/our-services/protective-services/rcmp/ Quote
underworld Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 we spoke to the first rescuers on the scene. we finished rapping as they got to the base and we directed them to where she fell. we didn't see specifically where she came from. might still contact them... Quote
