Maybe you are heading to Whistler or something... you could go to see this Fri or Sat night.

"Best of the Fest" show with the

winning films from the past 5th Vancouver Int Mountain Film Festival and

with a live slide show by Guy Edwards, "2001 Complete Coast Range Ski

Traverse". The show is on Friday and Saturday, December 13 and 14, at the

Brew Pub in Squamish. bigdrink.gifbigdrink.gif

Being surrounded by pretentious yuppies and rich old people and their teenage jibber kids bore me sometimes. Or maybe you are going to try aid climbing this weekend and will retreat to the bar after fixing the first pitch.... bigdrink.gifbigdrink.gifbigdrink.gif

Favorite Whistler activities:

- throw snowballs through open condo windows.

- pick fights with the aussies

- check out the go-go girls at Tommy Africas

- practice my fake Canuck accent

- laugh at neon one piece ski outfits

- go hot tub poaching

well, if you can't even afford their genuinely reasonable lift tickets, there probably won't be a whole lot for you to do there that you couldn't do at home. but i find that just BEING in whistler makes even the mundane more exciting. wink.gif

a couple of fun things you can do for "free" or cheap:

soak in the hot tub and people watch.

Buy 0 lift tickets, hike the Ho Ch Minh, and ski for a week if you want.

Try and recycle a 7-11 ticket, sometimes they work more than once.

Make sure you look like you skiied a run or two, and go to Customer Service and tell 'em yer ticket ripped off in the trees. It worked for a friend, although his ticket really did get ripped off. Really.

Buy overpriced lunch at the top too reduce any feelings of guilt you may have. laugh.gif

I've only heard of others doing these things, of course, so don't know if they really work.
