kingfrankiv Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I recently bought a pair of la sportiva Nepal evos and was wondering what type of care products I should use to keep these boots in top shape? Quote
mike1 Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I never store them dirty and have always used Biwell on the leather. Seems to do the trick so far. Quote
kingfrankiv Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) Ok. I have a pair of powermatic by ASOLO full leather boots. And they have lasted for years. Just didn't know if the Nepal evos needed anything special . Thanks Edited September 23, 2012 by kingfrankiv Quote
mike1 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Ya, it's not for water proofin, obviously, but it's important to not let the leather dry out. Quote
mmeyers Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I have the same and have had excellent results using the Revivex leather gel stuff. Quote
kingfrankiv Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 Where would I be able to pick some of that stuff at? Quote
ericandlucie Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I have several pairs of Nepal Tops (predecessor to the Nepal EVO). My current ice climbing pair is ~10 years old and very heavily used, yet it performs and looks just about like new. I simply let it dry and brush off the occasional mud. Once in a while, I spray them with a can of silicone-based general purpose waterproofing spray. They are still 100% waterproof. My other (larger) pair, which I use for mountaineering has been treated with various wax based boot-specific treatments and it looks terrible. Those treatments stiffen the leather. They are much LESS waterproof as a result than my ice climbing pair. My advise: treat your boots as little as possible and stick with silicone based (non-wax) spray types. Quote
JasonG Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Interesting....so the spray keeps them from drying out and cracking? Quote
