Colchuck Lake TH road conditions?

Has anyone been up the road recently? Beta? Ski, walk or drive? Thanks!

Last Sunday it was dry for about 1.5 miles up, then snow.

I was up there last saturday. The gate is still closed, and the road is melted out to the 1.75 mile mark approximately. There is continuous snow after that.

Road is gated still, at least Friday it was. No snow until Eightmile TH

Now the FS is saying next week. Monday May 14th end of the day or later in the week.

as of May 13 road is entirely free of snow except for one rapidly disappearing smear about one quarter mile from road's end. rangers had told us gate would open when road was snow-free to Eightmile trailhead -- so they're late -- gate should open any second now.
