genepires Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 So is it worth going out to the LTW unless it is above 50deg? Is a 40deg too damn cold to be sticking fingers and hands into cracks there? Anyone been out there recently? Was thinking of going out there later this week. Index in dec sounds sweet. Maybe not..... Quote
Nate J Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I'm likely headed out there tomorrow. Happy to let you know how it goes or meet up with you out there. -Nate J 781-927-5341 Quote
Rad Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Put a handwarmer in your chalk bag. Wear a puffy. Off you go! No pain, no pain... Quote
denalidevo Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Was there Friday and Saturday Gene - never got above 40 deg, but was fine, especially when the sun came out. Fingers got a little cold, but that builds character, right? Wear long underwear, a warm cap, puffy and belay gloves. Bring a thermos and put a hand warmer in your chalk bag. denalidevo Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 BTW - the wall was quite wet on Friday, a little better Saturday. We led through the dampness on (lower) Godzilla both yesterday and today. Tatoosh was completely dry Friday. If the weather forecast stays true things should continue to dry out. Jap Gardens was dry enough to lead Saturday. Thin Fingers was still damp on the first pitch but could be skirted around via Tatoosh or french-freed easily. I don't have to work next Friday until 4pm and would love to get some laps in Gene if you're available. Anyone been out there recently? Was thinking of going out there later this week. bigwallben Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I find that tube socks and high tops work well, and 18 layers of poly pro. Quote
boadman Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Sunny and 40 is just about perfect at Index. Quote
