Look at the similarities between Neri's post and this: When George W. Bush was asked what Independence Day meant to him, he replied, "Well, it's an unimaginable honor to be the President during the Fourth of July of this country. It means what these words say, for starters. The great inalienable rights of our country. We're blessed with such values in America. And I-- it's-- I'm a proud man to be the nation based upon such wonderful values... But the true greatness of America are the people." Neri = Dubya. Matt can u speak and write in more then 3 languages at least at my level? If you think u can then we can compare oranges to oranges and apples to apples Quote
Fairweather Posted August 22, 2001 Posted August 22, 2001 Neri, I disagree with your conclusion that some people have no business in the mountains. I think that in this country (especially!) it is important that all people have the freedom to go wherever/whenever they wish on public lands. It is ironic that some socialist countries allow more freedom than The United States when it comes to climbing and hiking access. I am disgusted however that some on this site would make your mastery of written English an issue when your point was so obviously stated. By the way Matt; I understand GW speaks Spanish even better than English...but at least he isn't out trying to land grab, pardon murderers, get his *##%@ sucked while on the phone talking about troop deployments to Kosovo, nationalizing health care, stealing furniture, and burning cult-freaks out of their commune. Matt Posted August 22, 2001 Posted August 22, 2001 Neri, I apologize for being so insensitive. I didn't even consider that English wasn't your native language. I am sorry and regret my harsh words. Your English rocks! Honestly, I think your English is much better than President Bush's English. And yes, I speak a few languages. I speak Mongolian, Mandarin and Japanese. I certainly couldn't post messages in Chinese or Japanese, but I could in Mongolian. What do you speak? In what countries have you climbed? In America we are lucky enough to have the freedom to go into a wilderness that is still wild. All Americans have this right. [This message has been edited by Matt (edited 08-21-2001).] Quote

Drederek Posted August 22, 2001 Posted August 22, 2001 We all have ability to go into the mountains and be ourselves. If we are poor or rich, experienced or not. If we are going to let what others think of us enhance or diminish our experiences we are either posers or insecure losers. I'm going to have a great time whether I'm in killer cotton or NF goretex.
