(Music too) Nothing to do with piracy and illegal distribution. I think that there is nothing wrong with buying a dvd and storing it on my server for my own use. Clearly Sony feels otherwise. As I mentioned several posts ago, the way I suggest to deal with Sony is quite simple: Boycott Sony. Pretty simple. Aboslutely clear. Much like I stopped buying Sony CDs when they snuck in the rootkit in cds. ( link )To me not allowing dvds to be copied to servers and sreamed is simply the result of vested interests throwing their weight around to the detriment of logic and fairness. Â If I buy a 600 disc changer and hook it up to my network and then load up 500 dvds I am fine streaming the dvds. Now if I do the sensible thing buy the DVDs and copy the DVDs to my network and stream from a central server I appear to be breaking some laws. Clearly a fucked up situation. Right now the studios seem to be of a mixed miind on how to deal with progress. Sony clearly want to screw the consumer over at every opportunity. Â Â Quote
