The funny thing is that "shock and awe" didn't do nearly as much long-term damage as the economic shock therapy instituted by the Coalitional Provisional Authority and Paul Bremer did. While Grover Norquist and other neoliberals were back here licking their lips at the prospect of finally creating a free market utopia from scratch, the policies they were instituting were creating the insurgencies overnight.
