billcoe Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Here we go again. The peanut gallery has started. Loved this comment: "It should be noted that rescuers are still attempting to extricate a climber who is presently precariously perched near the crater of Mt. Tabor located in southeast Portland. Rescue crews were called in after a climber using his cell phone notified authorities he was stranded on a ledge approximately 5 feet from the volcanoe's crater floor. Helicopters attempted removal at first but too many trees and power lines were blocking access. Presently it is unknown if the climber is experienced or has dressed for the weathered conditions at such elevations. His family has been notified. Fortunately the Hood climber looks to be fine with a little mending, so jokes like this seem easier to laugh at. For folks unfamiliar with Portland area, Mt Tabor is in the heart of the city (although it is a real volcano) and is a very popular and accessible park. Quote
ScaredSilly Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I saw that comment as well an thought WTF?? Someone has a good sense of humor. I am sure folks will be very concerned about the climber's wellfare. Quote
