My honest thought is that most of the spray (no matter what forum it shows up in) is entertaining and fun. However, I think that when people are rude or just a little too rough on people asking serious questions, it reduces the helpfulness of the board.

That said, I don't think there is really anyway to change it. Some people can't/won't sensor themselves for the serious questions or the softie newcomers. I think that means that if you want beta, you have to be tough. Otherwise, ask somewhere else...

I like the group the way it is...very entertaining.

Spraying is way more fun than homework. Its all good until someone takes it personaly, or your boss reads it!

I don't want to stop the fun and I am not advocating that any sprayer be neutered. I just think that when it gets TOO personally combative, we lose people.

Ask yourself, if you were the least bit worried about how you looked in public, and if you were the "perpetrator" at Castle Rock, would you show up here? I have no problem if you think the negativity thread reflects some lame political correctness or if you think that I might be one with a stick up my ass – I figured that when I started that topic, I was asking for an argument. But I assure you, in the last few weeks I have talked with several people who would otherwise have information and ideas that would be of interest to many users on this site but who refuse to post here because the feel it isn't worth it to sign up for the abuse. You might say, "get a life - this is the internet," but this is not going to change the fact that these people don't think they have to put up with that crap.

Spray on, dudes! Some of that stuff is FUNNY!

This isn't really directed any poster in particular, just the ones who are against using this board for fun. Of course, since I am posting this in spray, maybe I have become placid myself. A real 20 something "prick" would put it right at the top of the Climbers Board. I guess I don't even really know what the hell those guys are talking about since I stopped reading about Dans Dreadful being restored after the first 20 or 30 posts, it does get kinda boring after the usual suspects make their initial opinions heard. It has been an interesting introduction to the climbing social group with this website for me this year and I must say climbers are more diverse than any other bunch I have seen. Keep it up guys, its what makes you interesting (and I think the chicks dig it) grin.gif
