has anyone been up there in past couple days? is the south face of prusik snow-free? are rock routes on northern aspects still in wintry conditions? conditions/cornices on routes like ICG on stuart? thanks!

SF Prusik was completely snow-free last weekend (8 days ago). The NF still had a fair amount of snow on it.

 

We hit solid snow at Snow Lake. Hiking on the sandy beach is much easier than trying to follow the snowy bootpack.

 

I saw a picture of the ICG on Saturday 6/12 that still showed a pretty major cornice.

Thanks for the pictures. So technically now do you need permits? But I'm assuming the chances of anyone checking are slim...
Chances are good a backcountry ranger will check for your permit.

I'm pretty sure they do a regular loop, at least on the weekends, all through permit season. I would expect to get checked if you are on the main trail then. Hardly a soul up there the last non-permit weekend though!
