JoshK Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Anybody been over SR20 since they reopened it? The telemetry says 20+ inches, but I have no idea where they are reading it. Is any terrain skiable or are rocks and brush still sticking through? It might be moot if another storm closes the pass for good, though... Quote
Rafe1234 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Id say theres a shiton more than 20+ inches at WA pass. Theres about a 6ft base at Heather Meadows around 4k. I skied by Table a few times this week and theres probably 7+ ft there. WA pass is totally buried, most likely....although having not been there....who knows. Quote
cascadesdj Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 So does anyone know of a site that gives regular snowpack depth info for various places around the Cascades? And I don't mean just the ski areas with their suspect data. Quote

jshamster Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Not familiar with the site that Kurt referenced, but NWAC has all of the telemetry stations listed: http://www.nwac.us/ Click on NWAC Weather Data on the left side. Usually accurate unless wind & rime are fuckin' shit up. Some of the telemetry sites are listed as ski areas, but that's just because of where the equipment is located. Cheers. Jimbo Quote
bstach Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Id say theres a shiton more You're gonna confuse the 'mericans by mixing metric and english measurements Quote
AlpineK Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/snotel/Washington/washington.html I've the station at Rainy Pass. It's in the trees just above the parking area, so it gets some protection from wind events. Quote
