olyclimber Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Really. I think he is a positive influence on a younger team. I just hope he is more of a pinch hitter rather than a full time DH. Quote
prole Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 Yeah, based on the impact he had last year I'd say he's probably worth that kind of money. The benefits from his presence fall almost entirely in the intangible category though. It's fun for the fans and players but "chemistry" is only meaningful if the team actually goes to the playoffs. Paying KGJ to hit guys in the face with pies and riding Ichiro around the clubhouse like a horse is fine with me, so long as it's the most minor piece of a serious offseason strategy for a 2010 pennant. LostCamKenny Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 2010 could be the year. paaaaleeeeeeze - the M's need "Super" "Star" power, and ichiro is only the table setter. KGJ is no longer a super star, so his influence is going to be felt only in dugout or clubhouse. I love the M's but 2010 is going to let you down if you think it might be the year! Quote
