ewhack Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Trip: Spickard, Red Face - Date: 10/6/2009 Trip Report: Perry Creek; a little brushy Hmmm... Nice perspective of one of my favorite traverses: Bacon, Hagan, Blum Red Face Approach Notes: Mushrooms were out Quote
rocky_joe Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 what is that third photo? it is AMAZING! Quote
dberdinka Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 That last photo is Whatcom Peak? Which implies you climbed Spickard then ridge traversed past Redoubt and Bear down to Whatcom Pass then out...LIttle Beaver? Am I right? Sounds like a long, beautiful journey! Quote
mountainsloth Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 killer pics. way to get after it late in the season! I bet you did not see a soul. Quote
stoney Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Very inspiring! Looks like a great outing. Got any descriptive text to go with those incredible pics? Quote
ewhack Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 Spickard route: south slope, 6th pic The Whatcom Pass-Redoubt High Route was a consideration. Went back out Perry Creek. Red Face was done as a side trip. Quote
Le Piston Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Sweet pictures. I can't believe I was up there earlier this summer...same route. I never considered Spickard for a Fall climb. I see you also enjoyed the variety of fungus along the trail. How was the passage of the falls? Quote
ewhack Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 When you mention falls I assume you're referencing the Depot Creek approach. We approached by Perry Creek basin which held the most various and abundent fungus display I've witnessed. Quote
Le Piston Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Sorry, my bad...I didn't pick up the Perry Creek approach through my flu and drug haze. How is that approach by the way? The Depot Creek trail had quite a nice collection of fungi as well. Quote
