LostCamKenny Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 What the hell is that thing? So i was at the boat ramp at beacon the other day and i looked up and noticed that some climbers were up above big ledge - no biggie. I noticed that they were moving fairly slowly and then I noticed that they weren't moving at all. This all happened in about a minute or so... I grabbed the camera and took a picture of the thing - you may need to zoom in a bit if you can... I think I know what it is but I want to hear from others.... Quote
billcoe Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I was at the Boat ramp Sunday and didn't see it until I saw the pics just last night. BTW, it's not mine. Quote
LostCamKenny Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 So you know what IT is then? I think I know what it is and where it was before it ended up where it is now... Quote
billcoe Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I don't know what it is....possibly a paper bag tossed off the tourist trail as it's close to directly under it.....although we've been having high winds out there...it doesn't appear to be on a climbing route, so it's not a haul bag. LostCamKenny Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 and yes a portion of flying swallow is down and right... i need to go TOWEL off... i'm werkin up a sweat. Did you have to call kevin to find out? I told him on the phone a while ago... The thing used to be visable from the trail where the uprising tops out - I walked right by it several times thinking that I should have grabbed it, but never did. When the winds were really blowin last week it musta blown down finally. Someone can do a rescue mission to retrieve it now. Or let the wind bring it down the rest of the way Quote
pink Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 i hope it doesn't interfere with any bird habitat.... and yes i used my lifeline Quote

JosephH Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 The chimney above Flying Swallow does. I don't really consider that part of the route so much as just a way off upper grassy ledges. Quote
