kevbone Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 When the south side is open to climbers....what is your plans? Quote
ivan Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 you always gotta start the season with a solo lap on the corner dude Quote
kevbone Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 I have kids. Soloing is a thing of the past. For me at least...... A saftey meeting at the ledge seems appropriate. Quote
JosephH Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 How can you subject your children to the risks of climbing safely? Quote
kevbone Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 How can you subject your children to the risks of climbing safely? Huh? Quote
ivan Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 How can you subject your children to the risks of climbing safely? exactly! as a side note, took my kids to panther creek falls y-day after camping w/ them the night before - decided i'm never ever taking my kids climbing - scares the unholy shit out of me seeing them on broken ground above a gaint precipice - sure hope they like basketweaving! Quote
Bug Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I take mine climbing. They have a healthy respect for heights. We did the R&D yesterday. The 13 yr old will probably never do that again. The 11 yr old was cruisin it. I got to get outside and play on a rock. Quote
ivan Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 looking forward to renovating "flight time" this summer Quote
kevbone Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 Looking forward to pissing on the falcons nest. Quote
JosephH Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Safety check = climbing safely. Engage wit, do not piss on self. Quote
ivan Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Beacon is open. Climbed there Sat. watcha do geoff? Quote
OrygunJim Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 the corner first to see what has fallen over the winter, and what should fall before every kid who got new cams for christmas pushes it onto others below. then YW, like 5 times in a row. KB if you want to piss on bird nests, why not hit the corvids out at Crowzone. NoNuts is now hosting a large and rowdy family. Quote
JosephH Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Before it opens we'll do a survey of the Peregrine nest and one of the loose rock load for anything that might threaten the railroad. If anything looks bad we'll probably do a pre-open work session to drop it in a controlled fashion. Will keep folks advised as the next couple of weeks unfold. Quote
OrygunJim Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Your efforts in this regard are always appreciated, Joseph. Quote

kevbone Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 Dont.....Joe owns that. Its his and no one elses......Matter of fact JH thinks he owns all of beacon. I hear Ken is coming back. Ken meet JH....JH meet Ken. Quote
JosephH Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 No, actually I don't - I'm just a guy who doesn't like not being able to climb there. The difference is, instead of being an relentlessly whiny little bitch, I chose to try and do something about it. What did you ever do to get it open even one day it wouldn't otherwise be? Quote
ivan Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 don't know 'bout kev, joe, but i indeed was just flipping you shit w/ no malice at all (if you were a peregrine though, i'd have to do battle w/ you ) Quote
kevbone Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 whiny little bitch Whats wrong with being a whiny little bitch? Quote
JosephH Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I don't know, is that how you're raising your kid - to wail and whine relentlessly and do nothing about situations he doesn't like? That was probably Django's approach after the fire or Doc Watson's parents after their kid went blind... Quote
