jordansahls Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Hey, I'm wondering if anyone has any recent information on these 2 routes on Stuart's north side? Anyone head up into that area this last weekend? your help is greatly appreciated, -Jordan Quote
montypiton Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 on Memorial Day weekend, Stuart Glacier Couloir was mostly snow, just starting to show some blue at the bottleneck, and things were melting back quite quickly. by now I would expect at least a pitch of significant water-ice, and/or mixed in the bottleneck. Tom Fralich Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Sol...do you have any more details on Ice Cliff? Also, did you get a sense of how much snow is on the north ridge? I'd love to get up Stuart on this trip. Would you say that Ice Cliff is the best bet right now? I'd be up for doing SGC, Ice Cliff, or N Ridge. Quote
Tony_Bentley Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 N Ridge is good to go. A little snow on the ridge but we managed to get past it without crampons. Give some extra time to pitch out the snowy sections. Quote
Sol Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 perfect conditions on the ice cliff and sherpa descent. Quote
DPS Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I looked down SGC from the West Ridge notch on 5/30/2009. The route looked good and well filled in. A bit of ice showed at the constriction. Quote
jordansahls Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Sounds like things are good to go. Thanks for all the Beta. Quote
Tom Fralich Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 We did Ice Cliff on 6/8 and it was pefect. A bit soft on the descent, but fast. Quote
