111 Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Shortly after uploading newly created videos from a hood climb (soundtrack used music paid for and downloaded from iTunes) I was notified that: "We have removed your video entitled (no title) uploaded at 2:03am February 25th, 2009. We did this because we learned that your video might include copyrighted material owned by a third party, such as a video clip or background audio. If you are the copyright owner, or have permission from the rights holder to upload and distribute this material on Facebook, you may file a counter notice of alleged infringement by following the link below. Please note that if you re-upload this video without filing a counter notice, or if you upload another video that infringes on the rights of a third party, our system will again remove the content. This could cause your access to the Facebook Video application to be disabled, or your Facebook account to be disabled." WTF! Youtube sent me a similar message, but did not remove the video, it was more of a notification but specifically said it was not required that I remove it. Beware! the man isnt watching you anymore, THE MAN is now a computer watching your videos on the interwebs. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Ya, you have an iTunes license for individual use, not public performance Same issue with kindle and reading aloud Quote
G-spotter Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 If you don't know how to make royalty-free music it is time to learn. Quote
CollinWoods Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Its an Itunes thing. Its like your pancreas. It can cause problems but you still have it. Quote
kevino Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Um...i'm pretty sure you'd have more problems if you didn't have your pancreas. Quote

bstach Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I put up a video almost a year ago of my one-year-old hammering on his drum set with the intro to Hot For Teacher overdubbed. Recently I noticed it was disabled with this message: "Your video, Nicholas' First Drum Solo, may have audio content from Hot For Teacher by Van Halen that is owned or licensed by WMG. As a result, your video is blocked worldwide." WTF? Is there now a room full of monkeys scouring YouTube for copyright content? Get a sense of humor, WMG. Jebus! Quote
