Alpinfox
Tell me how you are voting and why. Convince me I should vote the way you do.
tvashtarkatena
I voted yes, because I believe in maintaining the unique public spaces that give this city it's identity. They create a whole that is somehow greater than the sum of the parts, but don't ask me exactly how that happens. Plus, it's a no-brainer place to take out of towners. Best I can do here on short notice....
Alpinfox
What about the argument that we are overtaxed as it is and that PPM should pull its own weight? Or the argument that this sort of thing should be included in the general budget and not some special levy? If I read correctly, the PPM Levy would result in an additional $0.10/$1000 tax assessed value. Say your house costs $350k, that's $35 you will be taxed in 2009. Not too bad. tvashtarkatena
No. The levy will cost about $37 in 2009 on a median home price of $420K. Still expensive, but still worth it to me (barely).

Yes, I confused the "total liability" with the "additional liability" of the PPM levy. Good jorb for noticing that and pointing it out. Very helpful and informative. Hippy. Bug
King county voted down the King dome twice. They built it anyway. Then they built two more stadiums on the pretext that it would make Seattle a destination, a contender, a viable economic downtown. Same logic should apply to a place like PPM that has been around so long everybody knows to go there. Even the little fish shop where they yell and throw fish around is now a famous inspirational place featured in a mvie on how to inspire your employees. Take away and they'll all quit.
