genepires Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 I seem to remember reading something about this previously but am unable to find it in the search. so I ask, is there a outfit that you would use for sewing new slings on cams? I have used metolious for my metolious cams but they don't do other companies cams. I have a mix of cams that need slings and don't want to send it out to 4 different companies. I would like one shipment to get it done. Something like yates? Anything closer like here in washington? thanks gene Quote
OlympicMtnBoy Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Yates, Fish, and Mountaintools are the only other ones I know (Metolius is much cheaper so I send those cams there anyways), I've also heard BD will resling BD cams. I don't know of anyone local. Quote
mountainmatt Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I had a bunch of my cams reslung through Yates. However, I am pretty sure you can send cams back to Metolius, BD, etc. and they will do it as well. Yates will be a little cheaper, but they may not have all of the original colors (for example, some of my orange tcus have green slings). Quote
chris Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 To the best of my knowledge, BD and Metolius will only re-sling their cams - but Yates will sling everyones. A buddy had his entire collection re-slung by Yates to match BD's size-color scheme, irregardless of actual make. Pretty slick! Quote
woodchips Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Mountain tools does reslings as well: Mountain Tools Quote
Jens Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Mtn. tools has done a lot of good work for me. They will customize any length you want so you don't have to use those annoying quickdraw extensions. They are a bit slow though. Quote
hemp22 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 You might also call your local gear shops to see if they can do it. For example, Climb Max here in Portland will re-sling cams. But I don't know any shops in Washington. Quote
