chef_raekwon Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Has anyone been out to the North Fork crag lately? How's the road? Quote
Peter_Puget Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Dirtysloper: Do you mean South Fork? I assumed North Fork was the crag out by North Bend. Quote
chef_raekwon Posted June 27, 2008 Author Posted June 27, 2008 Yes, sorry, I should have been more specific. I mean the North Fork crag out in North Bend. I was out there in 2002, but heard that the road might have washed out recently. Quote
dirtysloper Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Ah yes, you're both right. I've no knowledge of the NF road...sorry. Quote
chef_raekwon Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 Quick update: I went up to the North Fork crag yesterday. The road is fine. There is a newish clearcut where the "trail" starts. The crag is extremly overgrown, highly chosstastic and the fixed draws look extremely weather worn. Quote
lancegranite Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 That's because you were the first person to climb there in 15 years. I have been told that the NFC has the best 12b in the state. A friend had a run in with a sasquach up there. Quote
Jens Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I wonder if the "fixed shoes" for the crossing are still intact or have been chewed by snaffles. It is nice to hear that the road is open, perhaps a newish trail could be blazed. I haven't been to the place in many years. --------------- Lance, I'd be curious which 5.12b Many people call "The Goods" (5.12c) the best for the grade in the state however if my memory serves me correctly it had two hangers positioned around edges so that if you fell at a certain point higher on the route you'd certainly cut through one of the newish skinny ropes we are all using. chef_raekwon Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 The river crossing is fine. It's no more than 3 feet deep. Quote
Hoodrat Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Went there years ago...most all the routs were on the stiff side, but I remember semi/sending something that wasnt quite so steep on the right side of the crag with the name 'Bobcat something'. my guests from Vegas went on a sendfest and really were impressed with the lines there. Is it the approach what keeps the crowds away? Quote
