patob Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I lost my wedding ring in the feathers camping area last weekend. A wide plain gold ring size 13. There would be a reward if found. Thanks Quote
Bug Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 If you need a decoy, I have one that might work. Quote
ClimbingPanther Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 holy goodness, 13? how did you lose it? if it's really important to get back, retrace your steps with a metal detector. Quote
patob Posted October 16, 2007 Author Posted October 16, 2007 I put in a zipped jacket pocket. my wife wore it later and unzipped the pocket not knowing. a delicate blame situation Quote
pjc Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 My sister once lost her wedding ring ring while snowshoeing in deep, fresh, powdery snow at Willamette Pass in oregon (There is a post somewhere on here about that). After searching with SAR for it for hours, declared it lost--and posted signs everywhere and gave SAR the description. Â Would you believe that months later, when the snow melted out, someone found it, and actually returned it while not accepting any reward?! Â So post some notes at trailheads, tell the rangers around there, etc.--it's possible you will be fortunate as well. Â Â Quote
Couloir Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 What's the deal around here with lost wedding rings? Either leave them on or leave them at home...or admit that it's not working out and get out of the marriage. Quote
spotly Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 I ran over my first one with a warehouse tug in 1985 then it got swept into a drain. It was flat when I recovered it and never the same again. My spousal unit just got a new one for me last year. It feels uncomfortable so I may put it into a baggy in my parka and loan the coat to her next trip. Quote
patob Posted October 22, 2007 Author Posted October 22, 2007 The ring has been found. I went over sat with a metal detector and found it in less than ten minutes. Only had to dig up one bottle cap. The whole tolkien story would have been differant if they had one of thess puppies. Big thanks to Bob and the guys at Aurora Rentals for setting me up Quote
denalidave Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Glad to hear you found it. I had a similar experience when I lost mine in the ocean on our honeyoon (an expensive gold band with Denali & the Alaska Range in platinum - the only jewelry I where) My wife actually found it out in the sea the next day. I was pretty bummed and remember telling her "we may as well buy lottery tickets cause the odds are we'll never find it" but it only took her about 20 minutes to find it in a tide pool on the edge of a crack where it would have been gone for good had it fallen in... He's still missing his ring, despite our best efforts to help him find it. Quote

Bug Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I have a metal detector gathering dust. If anyone needs to borrow it, I get 50%. Quote
