archenemy Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 There are fun parts to managing tech stuff. The best part, and by far the most important, impactful, imperious part of the job is naming releases and projects. I'd like to get a bunch of names together for next year's stuff. Unfortunately, the only name I have come up with so far is "Deathspiral". I'd love some other suggestions. Thoughts? Quote
JayB Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I'd seek inspiration in Greek Mythology... "Project Sisyphus" Etc... Quote

Are you looking for random cool names? Quote

Lots of fun stuff if you go with themes as Jay has suggested: Shakespeare (or names from one work), Latin names for body parts, movie or cartoon references. Maybe combine for Pun's sake: Uvular Bells Exorcism. Quote
archenemy Posted October 12, 2007 Author Posted October 12, 2007 Sisyphus is good--right on target. The names need to convey that feeling. Quote

JayB Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Might be spot-on if the code requires a random-number generator... Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Might be spot-on if the code requires a random-number generator... it's self-mutating code (using genetic algorithms)... hence the random genetic "issues" (i call them bugs; v7 thinks they're features) Quote
archenemy Posted October 12, 2007 Author Posted October 12, 2007 It's not a flaw, it's a feature. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 How about Archenemy? STFU, nOOb! Quote
