Toast
I'm heading out tomorrow on a badly needed road trip. What's the best route to go from Smith (Bend, OR) to catch Hwy 395 to Bishop?
Mal_Con
I always took 97 to Kalamath Falls then 39 and 139 to Sussanville and caught 395 there
Toast
That's what I'm thinkin'. From Canby do you turn off and head south to Adin? I think I took that way home two years ago, but it looks like a minor road on the map. Jogging east to Alturas then south to Susanville looks like the highway. It also takes you along the shores of a good lake, and over a neat little pass south of Adin. Adin itself is a cute little burg. Shorter than the Alturas route also. This is definitely my favorite route down to the Sierras.
