Glad to see it looks like that Seahawks fellow got banned for posting fluff in my thread. So hey, what climbing store do you guys like? I heard that the REI flagship store there in Seattle has a wicked cool climbing wall? The pictures look AWESOME. Sometime I'd like to fly out and give that thing a go. Does it protect with gear or are there bolts? Who here has lead that beast? Looks like some pretty stout climbing. Muffy, stop making fun of people! sk Posted May 3, 2007 Share Posted May 3, 2007 "Columns" well since you are an out of towner... technically it is Skinners Butte named for Eugene Skinner the founder of this glorious little town, or Skinners mud puddle as people fondly referred to Eugene as when it was first founded. The part of the butte that has climbs used to be a rock quarry. People call it the columns because is columnar basalt. Well worn smooth columns with a ton of pin scars to find little holds to tuck your toes in. but I like to call it the collums because the climbs are lllllllll and it is YUM there Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
