WTF???!! Since when is Hockey Night in Canada going all commercial?? Is nothing sacred? Edited to change thread title Edited April 28, 2007 by bstach Quote

I love hockey but stoped watching after the penguins lost...except the end of one red wings game Quote
Bigtree Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 I noticed it last night as well, just after (or was it before?) a commercial for the stuff. Didn't trouble me since I think Kelly's a knob and never listen to anything he says (remember that goofy blue head band he wore for years under his mask?). Next week on Don Cherry's spot they'll be pitching Cold FX - watch for it. Quote
TREETOAD Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 The important thing here is that the Canucks won last night. Quote
TREETOAD Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Ya America made up at least half of the original NHL. Quote
miladugga Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Non Canadian, sorry, but still a hockey fan, especially Canucks. Thank God for the Canadian channel, our local paper gave last nights game about 1 line. If you start thinking Kelly and crew are bad, try switching to Chris Berman on ESPN for a minute. Quote
G-spotter Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Hrudey vs. Jagr for most ridiculous mullet of all time? Quote
miladugga Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Yeah! Business up front, party in the back! Quote
northvanclimber Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 i couldn't take kelly hrudey's obvious bias towards dallas during the first round... he just kept going on and on about how dallas deserved to win and how great it would be for turco to win, blah blah blah... glad the canucks showed up ready to play last night... Dechristo Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 This afternoon, a goal in the last two minutes won the game for Detroit. Quote
bstach Posted April 28, 2007 Author Posted April 28, 2007 Americans are welcome to post in this thread. I just didn't think they would give a shit about Hockey Night *In Canada* down there. So sorry, my American friends (Do I have enough posts to use the word 'friends'?). Title changed. Quote
kevbone Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 No offense....but hockey is boring to watch. Oh...and it sucks. Quote

So I know of what you speak and agree. Quote
Dechristo Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 does anyone in the NHL play without a helmet? Quote
TREETOAD Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Helmets are mandatory. Ahhh the good old days of Gump Worsley and Boom Boom Geoffrion. Men among men. Quote
Bigtree Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 ...promoting this commercial product "Blade Tape" (http://www.bladetape.ca/)... Seems like a pretty steep price for one of these things (i.e., $10 canuck bucks)... ...especially when it looks like I could use one of these things and achieve the same, if not more absorbent, feel... Dechristo Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Gordie takin' it high and low from a couple of lowly Maple Leafs: Quote
G-spotter Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Know what your problem is, Dunlop? You're too fuckin' old to play this game. Take that sentence back! Too much, too soon. Dave, hold it steady. You're makin' me miss. You got him, Dave! Did you hear what he said? He shouldn't have said what he said. You don't say stuff like that on the ice. - Let's just win the game. - We are winnin' the friggin' game! You goon! You wanna say some more, you ugly bastard? Yeah! Yeah! Yeah, get him! We were all there. We all saw it with our own eyes. Dave. Goddamn lardass, Barclay Donaldson. I'm tellin' you, he jumped us. Gloves off, stick down, no warning. He challenged the Chiefs! - He called us names. - Called us names! - But Dave was there. - Dave's a killer! - Dave's a killer. - Dave's a mess. Quote

sk Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 does anyone in the NHL play without a helmet? from what i understand the way the rule is written, they had to start playing in the leaguge prior to like 1978 (or something)to continue to play without a helmet. i dont think any of those guys are still playing. however i am not an expert Quote
