Here's what I found from the website:

"Scheduled Opening: 3/16/2007 *Snow conditions may influence reopening date"

I called the parks department, (509) 664-6373, and their message said it was open. It also said some of the trails had been washed out from the winter but that they were passable.

There's no snow there now. Happy climbing! Give a quick TR when you get back to let us with mending bodies know how it is.

plenty of people out yesterday; sunny and dry with hardly any snow on the ground. the climbing is as shitty as i remember. someone should drop that block on lightning.

Well....we went today and missed the rain. The trail is in good shape. We did the little tunnel route on Orchard rock and then went up and did the 2 1/2 pitch martian diagonal friction piece. We then did the first pitch of the Dragon Head?? ridge route before we bailed because the rock just seemed crumbly and shitty. It was nice to get out and look over the fruit orchards and better than sitting home on the couch watching the rain.

I and a few others were out there in the sun- we did A Crack, the Tube, Windward Direct, Testicular Fortitude (somewhat scary flake and runout), and West Face to LightningP2 of GCT. Speaking of the previously mentioned block that someone should remove on Lightning; that someone turned out to be us. The 50 lb thing was just hanging there by a few layers of keyed in crap, and did't take more than the weight of a pigeon to dislodge, once we determined noone was below. How many folks have climbed up past that block? One in our party had done it about 5 years ago, and didn't recall it being like that...

Good to be in the blazing sun though!
