billcoe Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 This is something new from BD. Has any of you gear whores tried it out? Looks better and cheaper than the Pezel to me. * Weight: 2.9 ounces * Strength: 26 kN Cost $39.99 at Mountaingear.com VS Pezel * Weight: 5 ounces * Working load: 5 kiloNewtons Cost $60.00 at Mountaingear.com Quote
RogerJ Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 I love when web sites get their content mixed up. I am looking at the MountainGear site and they have a picture of BD Raptors there (as opposed to the Rotor Swivel) -r Quote
billcoe Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 Pezels the shizel. Fo Shezzels ma Pezels. "Haul spinning pigs without tangling the ropes with our new compact, symmetrical swivel crafted entirely from high-strength aluminum. The Rotor is mounted on an enclosed bearing that is silky smooth and each end will hold up to three biners. " Guess I'll have to buy one myself and head up the Captain. Quote
counterfeitfake Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 what an exciting piece of gear Quote
billcoe Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 what an exciting piece of gear Uhhh, not. It's not a dual cock ring or something bizarre in case you were thinking it..... Quote
G-spotter Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 You could clip into one end and tie your umbilicals to the other and not worry so much about getting the umbilicals crossed up. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 You could clip into one end and tie your umbilicals to the other and not worry so much about getting the umbilicals crossed up. ...if you plan to hang on your umbilicals Quote
G-spotter Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Having a free-rotating attachment to umbilicals is nice whether you plan to hang on them or not (and if they are stretchy, hanging won' t do much good, anyways hanging = aid ). the old Grivel umbilical setup used to come with a swivelly thing just like this. You can buy a cheap hardware store one too. Quote
G-spotter Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 like AlpineDave's swivel http://www.alpinedave.com/leashless_rig.htm Quote
